Leather has been a winter trend that has been played around with for the last year or two and looking forward to next season (or is it this season at this stage?!) it looks like it’s going to stay.
I personally love leather, not just for bags and shoes either. A leather dress can look really striking and leather leggings are cool and very versatile. Sadly, leather doesn’t come cheap so the high street has provided us with some leather-panelling or faux leather, which at times, can look as good (not always though!)
Here’s how to wear it and also where to pick up some of this leathery goodness this year:
Whitney Port wearing possibly the most difficult of all leather looks, leather shorts. Not for me, but Whitney’s legs are lithe and long so they look great. I think the casual knit is what makes this look so good.
Here, Jennifer Aniston excels in making her leather dress look really classy. It fits perfectly and she has gone really simple on accessories, as per with Jennifer, but it looks fab.
This next one is my favourite.. Ashley Olsen in a leather skirt, patterned tights and an oversized knit. Perfect.
Here’s the high street’s best interpretations of the leather look:
This one from Asos, like the cowl neck:
and this Pencil skirt from Topshop, maybe not office appropriate but I think this would look great with a slouchy tee.
This River Island number could easily be a designer one. If you’ve got great legs, this is the way to go:
and lastly, this copy of Jennifer Aniston’s Celine dress is from Oasis:
What do you think? a brave choice or just plain chic?
